 Halal Cosmetics    Local Makeup   Values 

"I've been looking for halal makeup everywhere, but it's only available in the US. I wish there was something here in Canada." - Alisah, 34 years old, Milton ON
Alisah and many Muslims want to wear makeup without compromising their values. There also seems to be a great demand, in general, for cosmetics that don't have harmful chemicals.

What's the process?

1. Research
With a limited number of halal cosmetic companies to sift through, we analysed well-known and well-branded cosmetic companies, such as MAC Cosmetics and Sephora. In this research, we were mainly looking to see how they branded themselves. including the typography, and web design.
2. Content
Since there is a lack of awareness of what halal cosmetics is, it was important for us to provide this information on our website. We decided to showcase this via logos and blogs.
We also wanted to clearly showcase our products and the value of purchasing it.
3. Build
While collecting and discussing the content for the website, the organizational structure of it became quite evident early on. I built the website using Shopify's platform.
4. Launch
Upon launching the website, we also launched an Instagram account to promote the company.
